Enterprise Presentation Template System
Context & Challenge
Presentations were one of the most widely used communication tools across the organization, but the existing system was fragmented and outdated. There were six separate PowerPoint templates in circulation, each inconsistent with current brand standards and with one another.
Teams were frustrated by the stale visuals, confused about which template to use, and frequently modifying slides on their own to meet their needs. This led to brand drift, duplicated effort, and an increasing number of requests for custom slide support.
The challenge was not just to refresh the visual design, but to consolidate and modernize the presentation experience in a way that was easy to adopt, easy to maintain, and scalable across teams.
Strategy
Rather than updating templates individually, I approached this as a consolidation and enablement effort. The goal was to replace fragmentation with clarity by creating a single, authoritative presentation system that teams could rely on.
The strategy focused on:
Updating the visual language to reflect current brand standards
Expanding the number of slide layouts to support real-world presentation needs
Consolidating multiple legacy templates into one comprehensive file
Providing clear guidance so non-designers could use the system correctly
Adoption and usability were prioritized as much as visual quality.
Solution
I led the development of a unified PowerPoint template system that replaced all legacy templates with a single, modular file. The system included:
An expanded set of slide layouts covering common and specialized use cases
Updated typography, color, and spacing aligned to current brand guidelines
Built-in instructions and usage guidance to reduce misuse and confusion
A one-stop download that eliminated the need to search across teams or folders
By combining everything into one flexible template, teams could easily duplicate, merge, and adapt slides without breaking brand standards.
Impact
The new presentation system:
Replaced six outdated templates with one clear, authoritative source
Significantly reduced requests for custom slide design
Improved consistency and quality across presentations
Made it easier for teams to build, merge, and reuse decks efficiently
The result was a cleaner, faster, and more scalable presentation workflow that teams were eager to adopt.
What This Enabled
This work demonstrated how thoughtful consolidation and clear guidance can reduce friction and improve adoption at scale. It reinforced the value of designing systems that meet people where they are, and it informed future creative operations efforts focused on self-service, clarity, and sustainable governance.
