PROJECT TIER DECISION TREE

Company: Harley-Davidson Motor Company

Roles: Creative Operations, Project Manager

Skills: Adobe InDesign, Project Tracking Tool

As the in-house Creative Services team at Harley-Davidson Motor Company, we sought to demonstrate our value to the organization while increasing our quality and efficiencies. To achieve this, we implemented project tiering to improve our process, resourcing, prioritization, and reporting.

Project tiering allowed us to assign projects more efficiently to the appropriate staff, staff accordingly based on the type of work, prioritize work based on strategic initiatives, and push back on unrealistic timelines. As a result, we identified opportunities to shift our focus away from Tier 3 work and prioritize Tier 1 and 2 work. We found alternative solutions for Tier 3 work by creating self-service models or moving that work during slower periods.

Overall, project tiering helped us improve our processes, prioritize our work, and allocate resources effectively, ultimately increasing our value to the organization.
